Day 14...Clayton/Thousand Islands

On the mini glass bottom boat cruising the 1000 islands.

Picturesque Rock Island light house

Of course we had to climb to the top!

The pinot wasn't bad, but not a fan of sweet wines...

Popcorn,  on the other hand, is food for the soul.  And with an Elva sized Adirondack chair... what could be more relaxing.

Joe and Cindi Hoffman... great folks that made for a great cruise!

Bob and Cindy,  fun times over the last 2 weeks!

Our last sunset... over Lake Ontario.

The Pearl Mist in all its glory!

Day 13... Cruising the St. Lawrence

In reverse order,  you'll see approaching,  entering and departing one of the 7 locks enjoyed during today's westward journey.

The Thousand Islands...1 of the 1864 islands... to be counted as an official island, you needed 1 square foot of above water land and at least 2 trees.

CEO of Singer Sewing...a little cottage.

Why not a personal lighthouse?

Arriving in Clayton,  NY...

Our waiter,  Peter,  was the main attraction during the staff sing.

A beautiful sunset over Canada.

Then the fun began... open mic night... where Peggy slayed the crowd lip synching to Annie Lennox.

Crowd loved her performance,  which was spot on!  I failed to video the performance and the standing O.
Then my phone was completely out of power,  so I didn't capture even a photo of my dad offering his 4 stanza poem about the 4 seasons...

The seeds were sown,
the grass was grown,
the leaves were blown,
the snow had snown...

The crowd loved it!

Then I gave my only joke...
So an Irish guy walks out of a bar...

Others danced a hula,  played a mandolin, told politically incorrect jokes, sang a few out of key oldies..
But in my humble opinion,  the crowd really enjoyed all 3 of the Gubitz team!

Day 12... Montreal (Mount of the King)

The front of the Basilica of St. Joseph's Oratorio.

The beautiful organ.

Completed in the 60s, you have art deco and modern stylings.

Why not a selfie from the outdoor balcony.

The stairs used by the faithful to climb on their knees, one step at a time.

Canes no longer needed after complete healing during prayer services.

A view from the bus.

In search of Montreal's best onion soup... this one was delicious.

Our tour guide recommended this place... right next door.  Also amazing,  with poutine!
Yet nothing compares to Peggy's awesome onion soup version!

The quiet plaza in front of the Notre Dame.

Until a flash mob arrived for no apparent reason?

Peggy took a shot of the interior organ.

Somehow,  getting in for free,  she had time for the altar photo as well...

Au revoir... Montreal!

First of 7 locks to be navigated tonight,  on our way to thousand islands...

Dad rocking out to 50s/60s night!

Day 11...Quebec (Kay-beck)

Chateau Frontenac, the most photographed hotel in the world... and I helped!
I helped twice now!

Thrice! Ominous upon departure

A heart pounding experience!

Expand to locate our ship, a mere babe compared to the big boys(we had 150 on board) ... this taken during another beautiful 5 miler around the old city of Quebec.

An unexpected Jean d'Arc statue in the middle of an English garden. It represents how well they've gotten along since 1863's Treaty of Paris.

Tulips framing a small replica of NY's Empire State Building, built here to dock zeppelins. Go figure!

Astounding creative beauty!

Even Gandhi was impressed with French/English compatibility!

Day 10...Saguenay Fjord

Our cruise ship,  if you zoom in,  from 6.8 miles away... our morning walk was beautiful!

When you don't have the Loch Ness monster...

An Elva bench!.

A Caleb dream!

Water drives electrical power,  which drives turning bauxite into aluminum.

Unfortunately,  water intensity also floods at times.  1996 was a disaster,  with this the only house standing.

The tour took us by 1 of the 60 massive water driven electrical motivated dams..

A beautiful  fjord watching statue.

Zoom in and you can't miss it!

A stunning sunset over the fjord... on our way to Quebec.

It was British invasion music night with Kenney and Kat.

As the sun sets over the Saguenay fjord...
